Start with a wig cap
A wig cap or liner keeps your own hair flat and in place and gives the wig a smooth base.
Putting on your wig
- Give the wig a gentle shake to loosen the style.
- Find the back: the label always sits at the back of the nape.
- Pull your own hair back off your face and pin longer hair flat under your wig cap.
- Hold the wig at the sides, set the front at your natural hairline and slide it on from front to back, like a swim cap.
- Line the front edge up with your hairline and use the ear tabs to center it.
- Adjust the tabs at the nape until the wig feels secure but not tight.
Getting the right fit
Most wigs can be adjusted about 1 to 1½ inches with the tabs at the nape. If you're not sure of your size, measure your head first. For extra security, try a wig grip.
